VIVA SA All Schools - Results, Photos, Reports

Athletics SA hosted the VIVA SA All Schools Games over the weekend, which saw almost 400 middle and high school-aged students compete across 24 athletics disciplines.
Several State and National records fell throughout the two-day competition, which included Athletics SA Emerging Athlete Program (ASA EAP) member Angus Hincksman smashing the National Men’s U17 T38 800m record by 5.5 seconds.
The 16-year-old Westminster School student ran a 2:02.95 800m on Sunday afternoon, which also broke the T38 U20 National record.
Angus Hincksman, bib 266, broke his own T38 U17 Mens 800m record on Sunday with a time of 2:02.95.

Other National records to fall over the weekend included the Women’s T37 U15 100m and Long Jump, which were both broken by Immanuel College’s Keira Post.
Post jumped 3.66m in the Long Jump and 15.46 in her 100m race on Saturday, and also ran 32.11 a 200m on Sunday.
After breaking his own U18 Men’s Discus record in the opening round of the 2021-22 Copyworld Toshiba Interclub season on October 16, Mercedes College student Darcy Miller showed he’s not content with this performance, by once again furthering his distance in this event.
ASA EAP athlete, Miller threw a 61.27m discus on Saturday to win the U18 competition ahead of William Evans, who threw 45.27m.
Miller made it a Gold Medal double on Saturday, also claiming the U18 Men’s Shot Put with a distance of 16.70m, once again edging out Evans (13.90m for second place).
Keira Post, bib 116, set two National Women’s T37 U15 records on Saturday.
Darcy Miller won both the U18 Mens Shot Put and Discus events on Saturday.
Fellow ASA EAP Discus thrower, Marley Raikiwasa also raised a State Record on Saturday, breaking her own U18 Women’s Discus record with a throw of 51.19m.
Like Miller, she claimed the Discus/Shot Put Gold double by defeating Taylor Larsson (second place) in both events. Raikiwasa recorded a 14.51m Shot Put attempt.
Other impressive results from the 2021 VIVA All Schools Games included a triple Gold Medal effort from St Peter’s Woodlands Grammar student Iluka-Rose Taylor, who claimed the U14 Girls 100m, 200m and 400m events.
Taylor is the top ranked Australian 400m runner in her U14 Girls age group and on Saturday she ran away from Ashley James in the final to win in a time of 60.03.
12-year-old Iluka-Rose Taylor, bib 254 / race leader, won three Gold Medals over the VIVA All Schools weekend.
ASA EAP jumper Tryphena Hewett claimed the U18 Girls Pole Vault (3.50m), Long Jump (5.39m) and High Jump (1.70m), while also having a crack in the Javelin.
Tessa Ebert (Westminster) won both the U16 Girls 3000m and 1500m events in a time of 10:22.95 and 4:50.70 respectively, as did Jordi McMillan (Tatachilla Lutheran College) in the U18 Girls 100m and 200m events, running 12.41 and 25.25.
Thomas Griffiths of Rostrevor College also completed the 100m and 200m wins in the U16 Boys competition, with efforts of 11.27 and 22.88.
Ken Ferrante Tanikawa (Plympton Primary School) stacked his schedule, but it paid off as he claimed Gold Medals in the U14 90m Hurdles, Pole Vault and Javelin, Silver in the 400m and Discus, and Bronze in the 100m and Shot Put events.
The Strydom twins, Cara and Anke (Torrens Valley Christian School), finished in first and second place for both the U18 Hammer Throw, with Cara taking out the event with a 51.83m effort, ahead of her sister, 50.55m.
