Smart Backs Athletics South Australia with New Partnership Ahead of All Schools Championships

Ahead of the South Australian All Schools Championships today, Athletics SA has welcomed Smart as a Platinum Partner.

As part of this partnership Smart is working with Port Adelaide Athletics Club supporting their Aboriginal Athletics Squad along with the Saints Multicultural Program.

Port Adelaide Athletics Club hosts an Aboriginal Athletics Squad which introduces athletics as a sport of choice for the community, and is the first club to establish such a program.

The Saints Multicultural Program encourages young people from multicultural communities to participate in athletics by creating an inclusive club environment and supporting these athletes as they compete in events.

As the exclusive salary packaging and novated leasing provider to South Australia’s public sector, Smart recognises the critical role schools and sport play in the development of young people, both in the classroom and on the field.

“We are pleased to be able to bring Smart in as an Athletics SA Platinum Partner” said Athletics SA CEO Shane Fuller.

“As the sport of athletics looks to capitalise on the successes of the Olympics and Paralympics this year in Paris, we anticipate continued growth in the number of people participating in our sport

“One of the strengths of athletics in South Australia is the diversity and inclusivity across clubs, coaches, athletes and volunteers, and we are grateful that Smart has recognised this and is committed to aiding the continued development of the sport.”

Anthony Dijanosic, Group Executive, Salary Packaging, Employee Benefits and Fleet at Smart, said:

“We are excited to partner with Athletics SA in a meaningful way that supports both community programs and the premier events in South Australian athletics.

“Supporting these community initiatives as well as the South Australian Athletics Championships is important for Smart, as it aligns with our broader commitment to the South Australian public sector and the wider community.

The new partnership also includes an involvement with the only high-performance athletics meet in Adelaide next year - the Adelaide Invitational - as major partner, and the VIVA SA All Schools Championships as event partner, and will continue until 2027.
