Race Running - 3rd March Enfield Harriers

Published Fri 07 Feb 2020

Come and run with us!

RaceRunning is an innovative sport for people with a physical disability who have impaired balance, who are not able to functionally run, regardless of age.

Participating in RaceRunning provides each individual the freedom to move and run in a supported and balanced way without a walker, wheelchair or similar device.

What is RaceRunning?
RaceRunning is an international disability athletics sport started in Denmark in 1991 for age groups from 3- 73. It is a World Para Athletics recognised sport in which children and adults compete with running bikes on an athletics track. Events range from 40m to 3000m and even marathons!

A RaceRunner is a custom built three-wheeled frame where the runner is fully supported by a saddle and leans against a chest support, propelling themselves forward by the feet (one or both), while using the hands and/or arms to steer. A RaceRunner frame is a very effective way of improving overall fitness, strength and well-being.

Athletics South Australia, in partnership with Novita, would like to welcome you to Come and Try on the 3rd of March at 4:20pm. Novita will be there to assist in fitting the bikes to the athlete and there will be coaches on hand to assist with starting your Race Running journey.

The event will be held at the Enfield Harriers Athletics Club, St Albans Reserve, Chester Ave, Clearview.
