Ekiden Relay - 2021 Winter Season
Welcome to the eighth and final round of the 2021 Winter Season!
The Ekiden Relay is a true team event! 6 members running varying distances to complete either a full or half marathon
Ekiden (駅伝) is a Japanese term which refers to a long-distance relay running race, typically conducted on roads.
MARATHON: 6.195km + 4km + 10km + 8km + 6km + 8km
HALF MARATHON:3.097km + 2km + 6k + 4km + 2km + 4km

REGISTRATIONS CLOSE: 11:59pm Thursday 2nd September.
LOCATION: Bonython Park
TIMETABLE & DISTANCES: Both distances start at 9am. The below times outline the start time for each leg. If your team is faster than the predicted start time, then the next leg runner may go immediately as in a normal relay race.

Clubs will challenge for Winter points across the ages in the final premiership round! Each individual will score points based on their individual relay leg and will be ranked within their age using the ASA Ekiden Scoring Table. Athletes will score points whether they are in a full or half marathon team.
To be eligible for team victory, a club must have at least 2 male or 2 females within their team.

COVID-19 information
As with all venues and events throughout SA it is important and required that you sign in when arriving at the event, either by scanning the QR code with your mySA GOV app or by signing in manually.
QR codes will be located throughout the event site, including key entry points. The COVID marshal will also be wandering around to ensure that all attendees have checked in and will have a copy of the QR code that you can use to sign in if required. The manual sign-in point will be located at the Admin/Check-in marquee.
We ask where possible that all attendees obide by social distancing rules and stay 1.5m away from others who are from other households, not part of your family group. Where social distancing is not possible masks should be worn by spectators at the event.
Hand sanitiser will be available at key locations around the site.
