Adelaide Uni AC Cross Country Relay
2023 Winter Season
Welcome to the fourth round of the 2023 Winter Season!
The Cross-Country Relays is a popular event to enjoy cross country in a team atmosphere!
Athletics SA will host the inaugural Mixed relay state championship this June 17th at the picturesque Waite Arboretum. The event will be hosted by the Adelaide University Athletics Club and sponsored by On.
World Athletics first hosted the Mixed Relay at the World XC championships in 2017, but the event structure was popularised at this year at Bathurst (World XC 2023), where Australia fielded a team of superstars to claim the Bronze medal in what was one the best atmospheres, over one of the toughest courses, in world distance running. The Mixed Relay will consist of 4 athletes, 2 males and 2 females, competing in 2 legs (male 1,3 and female 2,4).
Clubs will challenge for championship titles across the ages!
Thank you to Adelaide Uni AC for generously hosting this event!

Parking
Parking is available on Claremont Avenue and Oval side streets.
Waite has a history of hosting previous Cross Country events due to its varied terrain, tough undulations and tight twists and turns around the beautiful arboretum. It has been some time since we’ve hosted an event here, so it may be new for many competitors. The course can get slippery when wet, so shoes with good traction will be required.
First Aid
First Aid personnel will be on hand during the event and will be located at the finish line/admin area.
Post Event
Please join Athletics SA staff and AUAC post-event for a late lunch at the Ed Hotel located at 7 High Street, Mitcham, SA 5062.
Lap Counters
Each club is responsible for supplying enough lap scorers/counters for the number of teams that they have submitted. If your club has a large number of teams, we recommend that you organise one person to manage 2-3 teams as a maximum, as managing numerous teams can be difficult.
Please ensure your scorers arrive with sufficient time to collect/complete the scorecard before the beginning of the races.
