After an extensive recruitment process Athletics South Australia (ASA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shane Fuller as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Shane has a strong background in senior executive roles with extensive experience in management, marketing and international business. He has held leadership positions in high profile sports organisations, manufacturing and financial services including Detmold Group, SCG Trust, Sydney Swans and Adelaide Crows.
It’s exciting times for ASA and the Board is particularly excited about the appointment as Shane brings a wealth of commercial and sponsorship experience as well as the leadership to move the organisation forward.
ASA President Jane Russo said “Shane’s experience and skill set is critical to what is needed and where we want to take athletics in SA now and into the future. We have a growing sport with solid foundations and great people, we now need to focus on lifting to become a sport business which opens opportunities for so much more.”
Shane commented, “I am honoured to be joining Athletics SA as its CEO. Operationally I can see that the sport is strong thanks to its member Clubs, athletes, coaches, volunteer officials and partners. I’m really looking forward to working with the entire athletics community to achieve our strategic objectives, to ‘raise the bar’ and position ASA for growth at all levels in the coming years.
Shane Fuller takes over as CEO from Bridget Senyszyn who was in the role 12 months prior with his term commencing on 12 March 2019.
